Turns out he was too young (born 1940) to have been taught that and (fortunately) too young to be forced into the  jungvolk (pre-Hitler Jugend).  Kintergarten generally starts at age six.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[Nimitiz and King wanted US effort to concentrate on capturing Taiwan/Formosa.  We know FDR ruled in favor of MacArthur&#039;s plan to liberate the Philippines.<br />

How stiff would Japanese resistance be in Taiwan/Formosa?  The population was not Japanese but like Korea under Japanese rule since 1905.  Having been there so long, I would expect there to be more fortifications.<br />

I read where one guy recovered a sniper rifle, but had to surrender it to battalion.  Audie Murphy sent his captured rifle home sans the scope and hand carried the scope back to Texas.   Also read of a 101 Airborne trooper who took one he captured in Normandy back to England (but I don&#039;t know what happened after that).<br />

 I got these three photos from a Czech aviation magazine (its named REVI) but im only able to get just two pages of it from its 97 and 98th magazines. And they are from year 2014. If any of you members know these photos or this magazine, may I see more about it?       <content:encoded><![CDATA[The numbers of tanks in Britain awaiting the threatened German invasion seems to be a subject of much debate, with conflicting numbers quoted in different sources. Is there any agreement on the numbers, on a month by month basis ? And what type of tanks were they ? This matters because the Matilda II was one of the best tanks in the world at that stage in the war, arguably better than any tank the Germans had, but some of the other British tanks weren`t quite such good quality.<br />
