    Hi ,
    Its the SHAEF badge, Supreme Heaqquarters Allied expeditionary force.
    worn by General Eisenhower's
    saff during and after D-Day.

    It,s the patch for European command formally Supreme headquarters allied expeditionary force SHAEF originally on a black background.

    Thats correct SHAEF was orginally on a black background :).
