Yes it is coming! One think to spark our interest even further; The map has 10,000 (yes ten thousand) land provinces :) how massive is that?

    Cheers...

Having seen a small screenshot of Northern France + Britain, it looks as if the U.K. is in fact divided into the proper counties. Finally!

Cardiff is not as big as it is on HOI II!!

We've got about a year long wait for it. Q3 of 2009 is release date.

Have a link to that image? I googled and couldn't find it.

I hope this one gives you more control over your men, not merely as a supreme commander but also as say, a divisional commander. Such as controlling Artillery barrages. Maybe more control over the singular battles but not too much for that will ruin the game, and turn it into a 'Total War' Series game, where you end up just letting the computer fight the battles and by doing so lose almost all of your forces, however if you had controlled it you would only have lost a few, if any men.

So the conclusion is by having to control every little battle by yourself being the only hope for your army to survive and ultimate victory, although alowing the computer to control also means more loses and therefore more accuarate.:).

I imagine they've broken it down into Companies instead of Divisions this time. With 10,000 Provinces (half of them in Russia, no doubt) they would have to otherwise the 'front' would be way to big with the current Divisions they use (hell, its hard to plug in all the holes on the Eastern Front with Divisions!). Lets hope we hear more in the coming months.

I'm hoping that they even out the power of the different countries. Example. Make Canada a bit more of a power, or give them a couple more events other than a "great war demostration"
Canada had the 3rd Largest Navy in 1945...it sure doesn't look like that when you play DD.
    Just me nit-picking :)

YES, i am getting this game on the first day it comes out. I just hope that it is not too demanding on the hardware.

I like what they've done with the map (in those few screenies). Its seems each 'territory' is now broken down into smaller sections. I assume controlling the majority of the smaller pieces gives you control of the territory? A spread effect I assume due to vastness (of Russia) like in current HOI in Africa where an unreachable province comes into your control (Egypt).

It's good to see Britian gets divided up into proper counties rather than cities at least. Cardiff is not the name for all of Wales!

One can only assume so, since those screenshots don't show it. Though, from what I hear, HOI2 only had 2,000 Provinces...so HOI3 is 5 times bigger (in number) which only means great things!
