Last year I found my Uncle John Cox, whom I hadn't seen since the early 1950s. We thought he was dead. He was living alone in Wisconsin. We brought him to Louisiana to be with his family.

I have finally talked him into joining our forum, check out his post in the newbies. He was a Radioman on the USS Franklin during WW2. He will turn 84 this Saturday. He is still extremely alert and has a memory much better than mine. He remembers names dates and great details about his time in the service and should be a huge addition to the forum.

John wrote a brief summary of his time in the Navy with special empathis on the last bombing and it's aftermath. I am adding it to this post. I had posted parts of it earlier but John wants me to post it again, in full, as part of his introduction.

I have also added a photo and a document.
