These brutal pictures were created by a Polish Jew - Artur Szyk, one of the greatest illuminators and illustrators of the 20th century.
He was a volunteer in the Polish-Soviet war, worked in the Department of Propaganda, then fought as a cavalry officer.
After the WW2 started he emigrated to the US - with the help of the Polish Government, hopping to influence public opinion there.
He became popular almost immediately, his works appeared on the cover of Time, Colliers and other popular magazines. Eleanor Roosevelt called him "one man army", FDR "soldier in art."

And he still didn't hold back his anger.

That last painting is true. Hitler wanted to stop the influence of the international Jews in banking, politics, the arts, etc., and lead the world, with the Americans and British subordinate to him, changing the status quo to German hegemony instead of democracy and freedom of nations.

Szyk became famous thanks to his Statue of Kalisz - a medieval-style 45-page manuscript presenting history of the Polish Jews.
It began in 1264 when the real Statute of Kalisz, a Jewish Magna Carta, granted the Jews vast rights in Poland - placing them above the bourgeoisie, under King's protection and criminal jurisdiction, forbade blood libel under the pain of death, set the maximum allowable interest rate at 108% per year.
They became a natural ally of the nobles, against the despised, mostly German bourgeoisie.
The statute was the rule of the land for the next half-millennium till the partition of Poland.

Pictures in the manuscript were small, no larger than a hand in width, but extremely detailed and colorful. You really need a magnify glass to see them in all their glory. It took him two years to create all 45 pages.
In the thirties, with the support of the Polish Government, numerous exhibitions presenting the pictures were organized in Poland. According to the contemporary press they were very popular - those people must have had much better eyesight than today.
