Why are they there any way? That is your precious Russia's area of influence. "You wouldn't believe me" location must translate in to Hollywood;):D or worse a cubicle at MoveOn(Moron).org

Thank you Carl, it's always nice to hear from a rational, informed and intelligent other poster.

Im not sure that I can argue with you there :D

Once again you are correct, however at the time Russia, other then voice its disaproval was absolutely powerless to do anything as it itself was in a crisis and her president was a drunk. This is no longer the case. ;)

Instead of pointing fingers at Democrats and Republicans I would like a leader to be elected that will :
    1. Start a well thought out plan to get the US off it's dependence on oil.

    2. Start a war on drugs and drug dealers.

    3. Stop the US acting as world policemen.

    4. Stop letting in illegal's by the millions.

5 Balance the budget and keep it that way for the future.

6 Improve the standard of education in the US

It seems like Presidents think it is more glamorous to spent taxpayers money on overseas wars.

Can the forum members add to this ?

I would definetly have to agree with you TA.
I think that the main one on that list for me is the illegals!
When I lived in TX I couldn't get a job with any construction or anything even near that area and now I'm in NY and I can't work any part time with landscaping or anyting else close to that.
    That's a problem.
As well, my sister just had a baby, she's paying every dime but illegals are off the hook the second the baby is born and it's an American citizen.
Just a couple of things that I'm not too happy about so we'll see this upcoming election.

Thank you Herr Oberst. I can come through once in awhile even through medicinally induced halucinations ;-))

But seriously, great post in return. ;-))

Za, im going to send in my spy and have him poison your 2nd cup of coffee. ;-))

TA, some answers to your questions.

    1) Will not happen or at least, anytime soon. I don't care who's in office. They all have sold their hearts and souls to big business. The only way to correct this mess, is to elect some poor guy who can't even afford to pay the fee (which is, I think, $10 grand) in order to run for President.

    2) They already have a war on drugs and drug dealers. What they need is for Congress to quit screwing around and actually let them enforce laws. As well, they need to quit this "'political correctness shit"" stop worrying about the rest of the world; and worry about what's going on in our own backyards.

    3) I completely agree with you on that but, you know that aint going to happen.

    4) This will not happen either because, big business owns their hides. A step in the right direction would be for Bush to give an apology, and a complete pardon, to former and wrongfully convicted Border Patrol Agents: Ramos and Compean. Also, I would reinstate these two men and also make them the top two people in charge of the Border Patrol Service. But you know that this too, aint going to happen.

    5) This will not happen again anytime soon. Reason being is that the fragging Congress, all have their hands in the pie and they want as much money for their districts; as they can get. They will keep stealing funds that are to go for something good, and spend it on bullshit; which is always the case. Once that is accomplished, they will then blame the Republicans for not having money for more important things, like funding the war and fixing those sum 70,000 deficient bridges that are located all across our great nation.

    6) Will never happen as long as there are public schools.

Carl heck let TA dream will ya

    # 2 take the drug dealers and put them on the front line sin the mid-east where they can all teach our guys/gals the "proper way" of street fighting

    # 4 provide further and larger border patrols, for Mexico ain't gonna happen until Bushie flys the coop, and it will most likely never be seen anywhere. Give full license to kill for any property owner along Mex.'s border when the owner of said property has been violated and signs/fences have gone through destructive purposes ( can hardly wait for the stones to be thrown on this one ).

    # 5 geez would it, could it............not, it has been so tainted even since the 1960's and Kennedy.

    # 6 Teachers need an education before they try and educate our own. Quit revamping history and letting kids grades fly by the seat of the pants just to push them through like mindless robots .......

Get off dependence of foreign oil first. We have enough oil within out borders to fuel ourselves, we just can put wells within sight of certain members of the population (the same ones who complain about the "oil" problem.) We don't have enough farmland to produce corn to convert to ethanol and still keep corn prices low enough that people can eat it.

The dealers are there because there is a market. Get rid of the consumer, the market will dry up. Apparently "counseling isn't helping very well. More lethal methods may be needed, it's worked in other countries.

    okay

I have no problem with immigration, provided the people who come here want to be Americans and bring something of value to this country, such as an education.

It will take a constitutional amendment and a gun to each congressman's head to get this one done.

Make parents responsible for the conduct and effort of their children, as I do for mine, who attend private school, as both me and my wife did. So many parents view school as a baby-sitting service, heck they eat most of their meals there. Granted, you can't blood from a turnip, but just how many of our "poor" have luxury items such as TVs, stereos, 24" auto rims, $175 tennis shoes and $40 baseball caps?

On a aside, I grow weary when The Keepers of US Economic Statistics saying the poor only live off of X dollars, but don't count any public assistance as income while at the same time continue to count taxes paid as income, but we never see it or get to even hold in our hands.

Some aspects posted by TA may be difficult or impossible to achieve, but let just take the money that is invested on entertaining illegal immigrants (in the US or Europe) and use it to balance the budget of any western country that has to face huge spendings on welcoming these unrequested guests. This would save millions that countries could spend elsewhere including in the reconstruction of Irak. Slipdigit has some interesting points too, especially regarding education and immigration when he says that people willing to work are welcome. I believe most of us agree that one of the key values is WORK.

What you are describing is true conservatism, The Micheal Bolton look a like stole my thunder, I was going to jot done a few lines of I like Dreamin for you TA.

The biggest problem facing the US is illegal immigration and it shows the lack of intelligence of the Democrat Party. All it would take is some Union guy like Gephardt to have gone against Bush and called him on the carpet abount the Amnesty bill, rally the Union vote and get the criminaliens out. That democrat would be the next president, focus on tax cuts for the middle class, responsibility of individuals, second ammendment rights, a strong military and keeping maufacturing and business in the US not letting Billions overseas and you'd have a winner. Then support guys like Lieberman and get the moonbat global warming clowns out of the Democrat Party and into the green party where they belong.

or elect Newt Gingrich the only sensible choice for President.;)

The key in this phrase is ILLEGAL! I have absoluetly no problem with IMIGRANTS coming over to add something valuable to this country but when you run the border or come in ILLEGALLY, you have no right to be here.

If anyone goes through the proper paperwork and applications and are given citizenship then by all means come on over but the US has to even limit those apps due to the amount of people just running across. Imigrants who come over and go through authorities do add something valuable to this country most of the time, not always but hey, you can't win them all can you?

How is a title called Iraq come to this, lol.

Well said onthefield. I will try to somewhat focuss the threat back towards Iraq (getting hard now) Legal immigrants are not only welcome but needed, they are even proud to serve in our respective armies, including in Iraq, Afghaniastan and eveywhere else. It is a nice way to show gratefulness to the country which has given you citizenship.

I cannot find a verifiable number for insurgient dead, since the DoD doesn't release numbers, nor do the foreign terrorist in Iraq, but I did find estimates for terrorists killed range between 20,000-40,000 and this does not count those captured.

    our friend Wikipeida gives 45,000-50,000

From my understanding, these are the numbers ( 20-40,000 ) are insurgents??

There is a fine line between insurgents and terrorists. ;)

And how many thousands of civilians died? God knows the exact number. If Iran is responsible for supporting insurgents I think it is time to get serious about them. But what if happens to be worse than Iraq?

I think Russia and China should involve in the situation, it is time to get their hands dirty if they want peace in region, but I doubt that.

And after that we have Kim. North Korea is a ridiculous country and something has to be done. Why China or Russia just can't say "hey what the f*** is wrong with you Kim, get your ass together or I'll come and kick it, you are stupid, what do you think you are doing with those knock off Marlboro's and counterfeit Dollars, your people are starving you dumb ass."

If I had the chance I would say that phrase exactly. I would also like to slap his head.

    Yes, Slava, 20-40K.

I understand the fine line thought and all, but since I am biased against them (I readily admit that) and their friends killed about 3000 American non-combatants six years ago and are now killing lots of Iraqis with bombs in civilian areas, I'll use the term terrorists. As long as you use any term other than Freedom Fighter, I'll not growl at you.
Wait a minute, you're the bear, you're supposed to do the growling, not me.:p

Who's friends?? Last time I checked, it was the Saudi's and not the Iraqi's that murdered those innocent people.

Makes one wonder what Bush would have done if Saudi Arabia had no oil to offer? ;)

Al Qaeda fighters and others killing innocent people are terrorists....

Iraqi insurgents fighting the countries which have invaded their very own are not terrorists in my book........
