Yes it all starts tomorrow the EU Elections..are you going out to vote for them in your country? We I am as the EU has more power over England these days..seems to me the EU election is far more important than the general election.
Richard , am I dreaming or what, are you actually ready to give up the Pound after all these years of being in the Maquis? I might vote, not certain for who, considering our "dear" (= expensive) politicians seem to live in an elected Divine Oligarchy these days.... I might vote against the Hippies though.
EU Profiler Funny little site. I'm more than ready. Been campaigning for weeks now... And it won't stop with the European elections. In Portugal we have three elections this year. European, local (city halls and stuff) and national (government and all that). Cheers...
Not if Za has anything to do with it. This way to the polling station which turns out to be Za's restaurant.
We won't go into the Euro, not at the moment, it simply doesn't make sense. Let's face it, 6 months ago Italy was talking about going back to the Lira, things have to be bad! Ireland have ditching the Euro too.
So, once a country is in the EU or use the euro, they can opt out right? I thought that it was the "once in, always in" thing. I'm not sure about all that EU stuff. Seems that the Euro people like it, but I don't think something like that would work over here. There's a lot of rumblings amongst the doom and gloomers talking about the North American Union thing these days.
Abstention in France was 59%, so your 50% figure is pretty decent. What surprised me was the score of the Green (13%) . Will I have to go to work with a horse cart now?
i don;t believe in EUro! If a war brakes out,no european cuontry under euro ist going t play by the rules. A waste of time! UK ist stronger enough to hang on to the pond,if Briton changes,Briton wuolde be weaker!
I don' t agree Heidi . Britian and France are nuclear powers and no-one would ever be crazy enough to ever attack Europe again unless they are anothe rnuclear power and in that case it would be the end of the world. It's a better dissuassion than any conventional army. Besides Europeans stopped or prevented many wars these last years . They are mostly sent under U.N or Nato mandates (Libanon, Kosovo, Tchad, Ivory Coast, Aghanistan etc... ), but they are nontheless European and even if uniting their defences may take time when it's done, Europe will be a major political actor.
