    Dear all,
I am doing some research on the 13/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own) concerning the period November 1940 to around 1943 when they began with DD training for Overlord.

I am specifically looking at the stay of B Squadron in the Northamptonshire village of Litchborough (though I am aware they moved around a lot for excercises).

I have consulted a large number of sources, some of which with replies pending but it is proving a very difficult task to find any records of this apparently neglected period. Preparations for D-Day are rather better documented but I am interested in the impact the Squadron had on the local community of Litchborough between 1940 - 1943 and which still retains a 'folk memory' of their presence.

I'm posting this in the hope that the extensive knowledge that must exist in this community can give me some pointers.

    Regards,

    Johnny
