My name is Nancy and in 2011 I found a suitcase of letters my dad wrote my mom starting in 1939 and span through his time training then serving in WWII. I also found his album of pictures with only a couple if names on them. Not knowing what to do with them I started a blog and blogged about my journey reading the letters for the first time. At some point I found out that the pictures were taken by one of his fellow soldiers. They also had some information on the back. For the next two years I obtained lots of information and found family members of the men dad served with. In the end I ended up with 2,500 documents/pictures and a very good understanding of the war through Dad's eyes. In the last ten years I felt something missing so I bought a lot of letters from a Lt. And have begun transcribing his letters and trying to find information about him and his Division. You can find my blog by searching for notsofancynancy at wordpress.
