There is still loads of unexploded ammo around, so always are very carefully when digging around, and have good contacts with an EOD company, so have a good feedback, and when I find some stuff i always contact the police
It's kind of scary when you think about it...you could be swimming in the sea when an unexploded mine washes up. I think it's 3/4s of mines used dont explode? Something like that anyway.
Since a deadly accident with a bomb on a Dutch fishing vessel, last year the Dutch navy is working fulltime with one or two minehunters on the North Sea, looking for bombs and seamines
Actually it's 85% on the D-Day beaches and new ones are found by tourists, fishmen etc.. almost every day.
Some nice finds . Did you find out where thye come from. The part od the I.D. tag makes me think of a U.S. engine identification (vehicle or machine) Was this a facility (rest place, eating place, field landry or similar?
All 3 parts of the left are remains of horsa modifications tags, and are from the former LZ´s the handle is of a life vest, the part on the left is most probably from the hydralic system of the horsa
I will be waiting for your new finds. I have one nice place too, but it's in a swamp, so you will have to wiat for nicer weather to see my finds. It's way to cold in the water now, I'll wait till the water evaporates somewhat. The Spring is a nice moment because in the Summer time it's infested with mosquitos.
