I saw "The Bridge" (Das Bruhne) many years ago...sort of a WWII miniature All Quite on the Western Front", but with even younger men (really boys) who are made to defend their village.

Das Boot is a very good movie...it depicts the hard realities of war ..there's always a dark cloudy storm right behind that silver lining!

Not quiet a movie but Die Willhem Gustloff (Ship of No Return: The Last Voyage of the Willhem Gustloff) is an interesting, if not exactly historically accurate - German TV movie about the sinking of the refugee ship.

I'd love to see this one. One wonders if we'll ever get it over here? I also want to see the remake of Der Teufels General.

G'day C.E - The tele-movie was shown on SBS, Australia's second public service braodcaster. It is available on DVD from SBS (via dymocks book stores), but you may want to check region codes and PAL/NTSC to see if it playable in the US, Here's the link.

Welcome to Dymocks Online. More for Booklovers.
